Positive Behavior Interventions and Support.

PBIS is not a curriculum, it is an implementation framework that is designed to enhance academic and social behavior outcomes for all students by being intentional, proactive and positive. If students know exactly what is expected of them, they are more likely to produce desired outcomes which makes the class run more efficiently. PBIS involves:

* Clearly defining and teaching a set of behavioral expectations

* Consistently acknowledging and rewarding appropriate behavior.

* Constructively addressing problematic behaviors

* Effectively using behavior data to assess progress

Procedures have been developed for all common areas of the school and the classroom. Students at Carroll County Middle School will be expected to show all 4 PAWS in the common areas:

R-Responsbility

O-Ownership

A-Act Safely

R-Respect

Students can earn points and visit the PBIS Panther Store to earn rewards!!

Expectations are taught, reviewed and posted all around the school. Staff frequently give positive attention to students following the expectations. Positive postcards are frequently sent home to students going above and beyond.
