Carroll County Middle School was named in an unfortunately popular internet trend involving the "Cat in the Hat." CCMS staff and the Carrollton Police Department immediately began investigating. No threats were made, but we are alerting families to the issue. An increased police presence will be visible in our schools.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter.

As temperatures change throughout the school year, so do our recess plans.

We have created a weather restrictions chart to help families understand when students will have recess outside and when recess will move indoors based on the temperature.

The chart provides clear temperature guidelines so families know what to expect and can help students dress appropriately for the school day.

Please take a few minutes to review the chart and keep these guidelines in mind as you plan for school each day.

Each family is asked to complete the Household Income Form (HIF), a completely private and confidential form that has a big impact on the funding our schools receive. Please complete the form today!
The number of forms completed directly affects the resources available for our students, including FRYSC’s Backpack Buddies that go home with several of our students, e-rate funding that provides affordable high-speed internet, and many other essential programs that support families across our district.
Completing the HIF takes less than 3-4 minutes, and every student needs a form on file. Our goal is to have completed forms for 80% of our students.
Please take a few moments today to fill out your student’s Household Income Form. Your effort makes a lasting difference for our students, families, and schools.

How to Complete the HIF:
1. Scan the QR code or type in this link: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
2. Enter zip code "41008" or select "Kentucky" from the dropdown menu and select “Search”
3. Select "Carroll County Public Schools, KY - Household Income Forms" from the dropdown menu and select "Select District & Continue"
4. Read the information on the page and select "Begin Application Process"
5. Complete the form with your household information. If you have multiple students in your home, please attach all of them to one form.

Kentucky schools now have a new accountability model that places a greater emphasis on student attendance, including chronic absenteeism.

A student is considered chronically absent when they miss 10% or more of the school year for any reason, excused or unexcused. In a typical 170-day school year, that means missing 17 or more days.

Regular attendance helps students stay engaged, build strong relationships with teachers and classmates, participate in school activities and stay on track for graduation and their future goals.

We understand that illnesses, family emergencies and unexpected situations happen. Our goal is not to discourage families from keeping sick children home when necessary. Instead, we want to encourage consistent attendance whenever students are healthy and able to attend.

Families can help by:

🖤 Scheduling appointments outside of school hours when possible
💛 Planning vacations during school breaks
🖤 Encouraging students to attend school every day unless they are truly ill
💛 Communicating with your child's school if challenges arise that may affect attendance

Questions about attendance? Contact Mark Willhoite, Chief Operations Officer/Director of Pupil Personnel, at 732-7070.
