The Carroll County Middle School eighth grade band competed in the Concert Band Festival yesterday. The seventh grade band and the Carroll County High School band will also compete. Each band is graded and is given instruction time with a guest conductor.

Sixth and seventh grade students in the CCMS gifted and talented program are using their strengths to become architects.
The students are recreating the Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Brandenburg Gate. They used popsicle sticks and hot glue guns to erect the landmarks. The students also had to choose how to share the research they collected, such as creating a poster or a brochure, and had to write and deliver a speech about it as well.

Band students from CCMS and CCHS will perform March 9 as a precursor to their annual band festival.
The seventh grade will perform at 5:30 p.m., high school concert band at 6 p.m., eighth grade at 6:30 p.m. and the high school’s symphonic band at 7 p.m. Guest directors will also be on hand to give the students feedback about their performance. These mini concerts are open to the public and will take place in the CCMS auditorium
