This morning many of our sixth grade students were awarded for a variety of accomplishments made this school year. Their hard work and dedication paid off and gave them a successful school year. Great job students. Rest up this summer, and come back ready to give the same hard work as seventh graders.

This morning we acknowledged and celebrated the accomplishments of our fifth grade students. We appreciate your hard work and dedication this school year. Enjoy your well deserved summer break. We look forward to seeing you return to our school next year as sixth graders.

Last but not least, our eighth graders got to enjoy Field Day. Some of the students are using today as a chance to participate in group sports. Some are choosing to relax today, knowing that tomorrow will be a busy day for them. Either way they’re having a great time out in the beautiful weather.

Parents and guardians, if you missed out on Instrument Rental Night, don't worry. The information bellow will guide you through the next steps you can take.

It was the seventh graders' turn to have Field Day today. The weather was nice to them and let them have plenty of time outside with their friends.

Some of our students took a trip to Camp Kysoc to have an outdoor classroom today. They got a break from the four walls and fluorescent lights of their normal classrooms, and instead got to enjoy the beauty of nature. While at Kysoc they learned about cartography, seeing the world from an animal's perspective, and how to perform dramatic literature. There was also a scavenger hunt and a station for the students to write thank you notes to teachers and other faculty members in the school.

The sixth grade students were looking forward to a fun Field Day in the sun, but the weather had other plans. They were still able to get outside in between the rain and enjoy the last Tuesday of the school year.

Instrument Rental Night is tomorrow, May 27th, at 6:00 PM. All students enrolled in band will need an instrument. Our instrument provider, Mel Owen, will be here and can talk you through the steps on renting or buying an instrument. This isn’t only for the incoming sixth grade band students, anyone who will be in the seventh or eighth grade bands are also welcome to come and acquire their own instruments. If you’re needing to use a school owned instrument, you should also attend this event. Remember, school instruments are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Hawks at elliott.hawks@carroll.kyschools.us

Recently our Fifth Grade students got to enjoy Field Day. The students spent some time outside with their friends participating in many fun activities. One of the activities was making their very own tie dye t-shirt.

Yesterday the Sixth Grade Band took a trip to Fairview Place and performed for the residents. After the performance the students had the opportunity to socialize with the residents as well. Thank you Fairview Place for having us out, we’re looking forward to coming back next school year.

The students and staff at CCMS have been working hard, getting ready for the KSA test. On Monday, May 12th, we held an event to encourage students to give their best efforts on the test. Teachers gave words of encouragement to our students. The students came up onto the stage and left their mark by adding their thumbprints into our KSA book. Then the students put the “Y” in yellow, the score we’re aiming for in this year's KSA test.
