Starting September 16th, students can participate in afterschool classes to learn about yoga and meditation. Classes are limited to the first twelve students who sign up. Students can sign up using the QR code or by picking up a waiver in the office.

Big day for our WEB Leaders!
Today they hosted their first 5th grade seminar. Students led presentations on bullying, shared thoughtful discussions with their 8th grade mentors, and wrapped it all up with a lively game of Duck Duck Goose.
Our WEB Leaders are amazing role models—mentoring 5th graders, building friendships, and helping them feel supported as they begin their middle school journey.

Our 7th graders spent the end of the day tackling the YouScience aptitude test—a series of (sometimes tedious) brain games designed to uncover their unique strengths and interests.

The results will help connect students to career paths that match their talents and passions, and this is just the beginning!

They’ll continue exploring careers and building on this work throughout their middle school years.

Fifth graders at Carroll County Middle School 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 gave presentations recently after researching inventors 💡. The students dressed up 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬 based on their inventor of choice, made a display board 📋 and gave a verbal overview 🎤 of their subject.

Students and Staff enjoyed our first official house assembly of the year. The Line Dancing Club opened up the show for us today. Then we recognized our students of the month. Edwin Herrera Bautista and Mason Brent are the fifth grade students of the month, Brooklyn Shovlin and Bryson Courtney are the sixth grade students of the month, Matthew Baron Tingle and Ryan Morris are the seventh grade students of the month, and Keyla Hernandez Garcia and Madison Chesher are the eighth grade students of the month.
We concluded our show with members of each house competing to see who could “run the gauntlet” the fastest. The challenges included a mummy race where students had to work together to get wrapped, run a short distance, and unwrapped so the next person could go. The second phase of the race was a speed puzzle challenge. The last part was leading your house through their house chants. Amistad, the red house, were the winners of today's challenge.

The Panther Store officially opened this morning, and there was quite a large turnout. These students have been working hard and earning points by consistently meeting, or exceeding, their ROAR expectations.

Students are working on their 5th grade inventor research project. They will be participating in a wax museum on August 28th.

Thank you, Southeast Christian Church, for donating school supplies for our students! We appreciate your continued support.

The Local Planning Committee will meet Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. regarding the District Facilities Plan. The meeting is open to the public.

Ms. Gonterman is teaching her sixth grade class about mixing paints to create a variety of different colors.

Over the summer our maintenance team worked hard to construct the new and improved Panther Store here at Carroll County Middle School. Ms. Carmen Simo-Perkins has also been working hard getting the store ready for students. A store isn’t complete without employees though. Kelsey Hash and Mason Roberts, both in the Eighth grade, are returning to their jobs this school year, but there are five more positions available. Seventh and Eighth grade students can apply to work at the Panther Store. Students who are interested can pick up applications from the front office. Applications are due by Tuesday August 19th. Interviews for Seventh Grade students will be held on August 20th and 21st. Interviews for Eighth Grade students will be held on August 25th and 26th.

The Carroll County Food Pantry has set its fall schedule. Those needing help can receive food every eight weeks, unless an emergency is approved by the pantry. Commodities are available monthly. Carroll County residents can utilize both the food pantry and commodities.
